As an avid Disney fan, one of my dreams is to make most of the iconic costumes worn by the princesses and heroines of Disney films. However, it seems that most of the patterns and tutorials available are only for kids, and not many are screen-accurate. Finding patterns for adults (that aren't horribly skimpy) can be difficult, and tutorials are scattered far and wide on the vast expanse of the internet. But never fear! I have collected the best and most accurate tutorials I could find just for you lovely folks!
If you're looking for a specific character, just press Control and F at the same time to search.
This will be an ongoing collection, as I'll add more as I find them, and if you have suggestions, please leave them in the comments! You can also follow my Disney Costume Tutorials board on Pinterest, if you like.

THANK YOU <3
ReplyDeleteYou're very welcome! =)
DeleteCould you post a tutorial for the Bimbette/Gaston's Silly Girls' dresses?
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately, I can't find a specific tutorial for them yet (I'll be sure to post it as soon as I find one), but while not a tutorial, this has lots of details and pictures. Enjoy! http://shaunartcosplay.wordpress.com/completed-costumes/anime-manga-cosplay/claudia-gastons-red-bimbette-beauty-the-beast-disney-movie/
DeleteYou are a wonderful person! Thanks so much for putting all these tutorials together! Just what I needed!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for posting the Tiana dress I made! Sorry about not having much info about the bodice - it was extremely difficult to make (in fact I had to make it twice) and I was just happy to get it done.
ReplyDeleteI completely understand. Thanks for being the only tutorial for Tiana's dress out there! =)
DeleteThanks for sharing my Wendy interpretation! I love costumes! My husband says I have too much. =)
ReplyDeleteI moved my blog to http://lepetitearbre.com/2012/10/peter-pan-wendy-costume/,

ReplyDeleteCan you please do Jasmine's red outfit?
ReplyDeleteHello Lauren,
DeleteWhile I haven't found any tutorials for Jasmine's red outfit yet, it is very similar to her blue one, and can easily be made by covering a strapless bra with red fabric and using the harem pants pattern linked above.
Ahh! This is such a great list! Thanks so much for the feature, I had a great time making the Jane Costume, even though I couldn't make it accurate because of my contest restrictions. It is an honor to be included! :)
ReplyDeleteThose outfits are so cute! Thank you for sharing all those tutorials here. wedding dresses

ReplyDeletehttp://thekoolchicken.wordpress.com/2014/09/06/my-anna-costume-is-finished/
There are multiple posts but this link it to the finished costume. I talk a bit about the construction, but it's not a proper tutorial. I do share where I got my fabric and embroidery though.
Thanks so much! Your costume looks amazing, and I'm glad to add it! =)
DeleteOh thank you so much, you're so sweet! I recently finished my husbands Kristoff costume, we're going as a family (my son is Olaf but I bought that costume). Here's my husband's Kristoff tunic.
Deletehttp://thekoolchicken.wordpress.com/2014/09/18/adult-kristoff-costume-finished/
It's a crying shame there aren't any real tutorials out there for Kristoff. I'm hoping to help fill the void before Halloween!
A lot of these are not tutorials
ReplyDeleteA lot of people (myself included) sometimes forget to take photos as they go. Most of these "tutorials" are more for people looking for inspiration and a bit of help. You can always contact the person running the individual blog if you have questions about how they did something. I know I'm always happy to help the people who contact me!
DeleteGreat List! It has helped me quite a few times. I think it would be great if you could add fairies too.
ReplyDeleteIt was so great meeting you at the fabric store! Thank you again for the fabulous blog! I can't wait to see what you make with your finds!
ReplyDelete-Alie
Thanks so much! It was wonderful meeting you too - and if you decide to blog about your Cinderella dress, let me know so I can link it! =)
DeleteI found a Rapunzel tutorial! It isn't 100% screen accurate, but it does have some good ideas!

ReplyDeleteHi, this is TR Rose (Mandy Nader) who made a bunch of the dresses you featured above! I'm working on remaking some of my Disney costumes and putting up guides on how I did them this time. ReplyDeleteThanks so much! I updated the links so they redirect correctly. Love all of your costumes, and please let me know if you make more!
DeleteThis list has been SO helpful to me and I know I've supplied you with some costume tutorials from others in the past. I also see that you've accepted people's "submissions" of their own work, so I wanted you to have my Frozen Fever Anna cosplay tutorial. I hope that it's helpful to anybody who needs it! Thank you so much!!
